This outpost of Dear Irving borrows two essential elements from its downtown counterpart (and its sister bar, the Raines Law Room): well-made cocktails and vintage style. The bar is spread out across the 40th and 41st floors of the Aliz Hotel in Midtown. The reservation-only upper level is art deco inspired, with colorful velvet seating. The decor on the lower level is worthy of a 1960s James Bond film, with gold light fixtures, wood paneling and a black bar. Both floors sport balconies with views of the Midtown skyline. The menu features classic cocktails and drinks incorporating New York spirits. For a bubbly option, try the Vice Versa with local gin, grapefruit and rosé cava.
