Leo Castelli Gallery

Description

The Leo Castelli Gallery was opened on East 77th Street in 1957, and since then it has been the place for post-war American art, showcasing mostly Pop, Minimal and Conceptual Art. The gallery moved around a bit in subsequent years, briefly taking up space in Soho only to end up back on the same East 77th Street block where it first opened. Artists whose works have been displayed at Castelli include Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg.
