Gavin Brown's Enterprise

Out of Business

Description

Eclectic, eccentric and taste-making, Gavin Brown’s Enterprise is the newest iteration of gallerist Gavin Brown, who has operated in several spaces since the mid-’90s, and also formerly owned the trendy bar Passerby. Known for his discovery of celebrity portraitist Elizabeth Peyton and his willingness to take substantial risks—he once allowed artist Urs Fischer to transform his gallery into a 38-foot-by-30-foot crater—Brown currently represents Franz Ackermann, Martin Creed and Peter Doig.
