Famous for exhibiting work by artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and David Salle early in their careers—as well as showcasing work by established contemporary artists like Richard Serra and Jeff Koons—the Gagosian gallery is an art-world institution, with 16 locations worldwide. This uptown space opened in 1989 and has hosted shows featuring Jasper Johns, Jackson Pollack, Andy Warhol, Dan Flavin, Pablo Picasso and other modern-art powerhouses.
