Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition
Description
The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition, or BWAC, was formed in 1978 by 16 artists looking for a place to exhibit their work and has since grown to include more than 400 members. The nonprofit group has two missions: to assist emerging artists in advancing their careers, and to provide a place to present artwork in an accessible format. Local Brooklyn artists are showcased at their Red Hook location mainly through their three annual exhibitions and an outdoor sculpture show. The gallery is open on weekends during scheduled art shows, and there’s a holiday artists’ market at that time as well.
