Description

One of two William Inge plays in rotating repertory at The Gym at Judson, Come Back, Little Sheba follows the lives of tired middle-age couple Lola and Doc; Lola suffers from a terrible case of solitude, and Doc is a recovering alcoholic. When a young boarder named Marie arrives into their lives, she exposes the resentment and regret from the couple’s past that they’ve tried so long to bury. The title of Inge’s famous 1950 play refers to Lola’s dog, which goes missing before the play begins, never to return.
