Fort Totten Park

Description

A former US Army base, Fort Totten is still used for NYPD and FDNY training. It's also a City park, and visitors flock to see its historic buildings, including a castle-like former officers' club, now the Bayside Historical Society, and an abandoned Civil War fortress. Other activities include swimming in the outdoor pool, bird-watching and canoeing in the Long Island Sound.
