Description

New York City’s first municipal airport, Floyd Bennett Field is a historic treasure and one of New York City’s largest open spaces. Managed by the National Park Service, Floyd Bennett Field offers 1,300 acres of grassland, saltmarshes, beaches, and runways, as well as the historic terminal building now home to the Ryan Visitor Center. Many recreational opportunities are available, including hiking, biking, fishing, archery, gardening, birding, kayaking, and viewing the park’s collection of historic aircraft through the Historic Aircraft Restoration Project (HARP).
