Calvary Cemetery

Description

Maintained by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, the Calvary Cemetery (founded in 1848) has the most interments of any cemetery in the US—more than three million. Calvary is divided into four sections, spread across two neighborhoods and is easily visible from the BQE. Among its many interments, the Calvary is the final resting place of a number of notable mobsters, actors and early New York government officials from the turn of the 20th century.
