20 Remsen Street: Norman Mailer's Onetime Writing Studio

Description

Just a block south of W. H. Auden's and Thomas Wolfe's former residences, on the corner of Montague Terrace and Remsen Street, is the attic studio where Norman Mailer finished The Naked and the Dead. This address at 20 Remsen Street was Mailer's writing studio; he lived with his first wife, Beatrice, just across the street and down the block at 49 Remsen.
